Summary:
Statfjord was the second transborder field to be developed as a single unit in the North Sea.
Statfjord is a field in the northern part of the North Sea, on the border between the Norwegian and UK sectors.The Norwegian share of the field was determined to be 85.47 per cent. The Statfjord was discovered in 1974, and is still producing.
Split:
The two Governments shall consult each other with a view to agreeing determinations of the limits of the Statfjord Field Reservoirs, of estimated total Reserves and of an apportionment of the Reserves as between the Continental Shelf appertaining to the United Kingdom and the Continental Shelf appertaining to the Kingdom of Norway.

Governance:
The Statfjord Field Reservoirs shall be exploited as a single unit.
The two Governments shall ensure that for the purposes of the exploitation, in accordance with this Agreement, of the Statfjord Field Reservoirs a unit operator is appointed by agreement between the Licensees.
